Our Last View

Well, we're done. Not only is this the last issue of the year, for most of the editorial staff, its the last issue as an Impact editor. For most of us, it's the last newspaper we'll probably ever work on. We try not to pat ourselves on the back too much, but damn we did a good job this year.

SSU Model United Nations Club attends conference

The Model United Nations Club attended the 26th Annual Arrowhead Model United Nations Conference at Minnesota State University Moorhead from April 18 to April 21. Delegations from colleges from North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Canada attended the conference.

Professor out of line at forum

On April 11th, SAGE (Students Advocating Gender Equality) co-sponsored, along with Social Work Club, the program: "Women's Reproductive Rights: History, Legislation, and Activism." The purpose of holding this event was to educate students, faculty, and the community about Women's Reproductive Rights within the state of Minnesota.

As a dreamer, and sometime professor, I believe there are certain truths in the world that are not debatable. I am not talking about silly things such as love, hate, George Bush etc.- I am talking about Equality, which incorporates such ideas as: Justice, Fairness, and Liberty- to name a few.

Speakers have the responsibility to report the whole truth

Thank you to the Impact for the professionalism in giving me a copy of the "SAGE" letter to allow a factual response. Thank you for the integrity of one of the students for suggesting the same. It was my understanding through posters this was an open meeting to anyone of interest (including faculty) concerning the topic of "Women's Reproductive Rights: History, Legislation, and Activism.
