The Southwest Minnesota State University Music Department announced Monday that they would be launching a search for candidates for their newest scholarship. The Department is seeking out students hailing from Hibbing, Minn. with expert harmonica and acoustic guitar skills, as well as dark, curly hair.

Students must also have a documented knack for folk-style songwriting depicting the social unrest of a dissatisfied generation. “We’re not trying to fill a void or anything,” said a higher-up in the department. “We just think there’s some talent out there that should be found so we can remind everyone what Minnesota music is really about.”

Finally, the department notice states that candidates must have ambitions to launch an extended touring career, and develop a unique raspy voice.
