Home, by Machine Gun Kelly, Bebe Rexha, X Ambassadors; Broken People by Rag’n’Bone Man, Logic; DarkSide by Ty Dolla Sign, Future, Kierra; World Gone Mad by Bastille, and so many more artists such as Lil Uzi Vert, Snoop Dogg, Meek Mill and Sam Hunt are all featured on the soundtrack for the new Netflix movie Bright that comes out on Dec. 22. The movie stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, but it’s the one-by-one release of its soundtrack that has people talking. Lyrics full of feeling and messages of strength and acceptance are delivered at a time of tension in the world, while at the same time offer a preview of the movie as effectively as any trailer.
The album promises collaborations across all genres. Many of these collaborations have never been seen before, so fans from any type of music have a reason to check it out. So far, three of the album’s songs have music videos streaming on Netflix and other streaming services have garnered Home, World Gone Mad and Broken People millions of views.
The album will be officially released ahead of the movie on Dec. 15, and from the songs released so far, it’s expected to maintain themes of ride or die loyalty, respect, pride in where someone comes from and overcoming adversity.
Will Smith and Joel Edgerton are, of course, great actors, but for me it’s the music that Netflix has used extremely successfully to advertise the movie that makes me want to see it.
Led by a masterful collaboration between Machine Gun Kelly, X Ambassadors and Bebe Rexha, the full album hasn’t come out yet but it’s already worth four out of five Spurs.

4 out of 5 spurs.
