As a former student body vice president, I am disappointed at this year’s Senate. All of those students were at the meeting on Tue. Because of a decision you made last week. They don’t agree with your decision. You are all supposed to represent these students. You should have taken that into consideration as you voted last night.

One reason you stated for removing Allie was that you had no confidence in her doing her work. I can now say that I have no confidence in you senators. You are unsure of how to vote, there were senators looking around to see how everyone else was going to vote before they voted themselves.

I just wish that the Senate could have decided on who to appoint as the SAFAC Chair. With clubs and organizations hearings this Friday and Saturday, it will be difficult for SAFAC to properly do their job of allocating funds to the clubs and organizations for next year.

The one positive of the meeting was the turnout. It was nice to see so many students show up, but I wish it wasn’t because of the decision that the Senate made to remove former SAFAC Chair Allie Gaylord. I hope that our students can continue to show up to Senate meetings and voice their opinions about issues that mattered. I also hope that there is this much of a turnout at the next meeting and that senators actually come to a decision, instead of adjourning the meeting.
