It was a bittersweet night jam-packed with talent–new and old–at Tuesday night’s senior showcase event hosted by creative writing major and class of 2013 soon-to-be graduate Nick White.

The reading featured the stylings of creative writing veterans Ryan Albertson, Brittney Heimermann, Nick White, and Laura Bania.

In addition, published author Katie “Kate” Robertson was the night’s final featured reader. The former waitress and professional writing and communication major read excerpts from her recently published e-book.

After the featured readers did their pieces, the floor was opened for other courageous writers to bear their souls to the audience.

Open mic participants inlcluded Kevin Heimermann, Samantha Lemmerman, Hannah Hutton, and Amber Carlson.

The graduating seniors are sure to be missed, but the underclassman writers assured the audience that there would be no void of talent left at future readings.
