Mustangs Optimistic for Ag Bowl Opener

During the last practice before Ag Bowl, Mustangs discussed the anticipation for the game. Quarterback Boyer Bouman, defensive back Lucas Fisher, and linebacker coach Levi Bullerman seemed optimistic about the season opener against MSU Mankato. MSU Mankato is currently ranked one of the top ten teams in the nation.

“There’s no better time to play them than the first game of the season,” said Fisher. A key to facing a top team in the nation is staying away from the hype and staying mentally focused.

“Playing them in the past, we just have to make sure we’re focused, make sure all our keys are right, and have the guys ready mentally,” said Bouman.

He seemed very comfortable stepping into the starting quarterback role. After summer workouts and spending time working with receivers, Boyer feels confident with his teammates.

“Anytime you lose a great player it’s exciting to see you steps up next,” Bullerman said. Overall, Mustang players seemed pumped up to start the season.

“Come out with intensity and excitement to play a top team in the country,” said Fisher.

“Play within ourselves,” said Bouman in agreement.

All three gave cheers of “Let’s ride!” The Mustangs are up to the challenge, and it should be a good first game of the season.
